We adopted Harley about three months ago and fear we have taken on more dog than we can handle. Harley is 16 months old and we were told he is aussie/husky mix. He is beautiful, smart, and sweet. He really needs a home with another dog to play with. We walk/run/exercise him 2-3 times a day and he still seems bored and has more energy than we can manage.
We live in Bothell and would be willing to arrange for you to meet him. He knows all the tricks/commands; sit, stay, lay, crawl, rollover, sit pretty, slides down the slide at the play ground, LOVES car rides,(he will rest his head on your should from the back seat-it feels like a hug!) He is not great around cats. The lady before us said he was never introduced to cats, we have a cat, that is rarely around now because Harley will chase it and bark at it. She said he was crate trained but we cannot get him to enter the crate unless we place his food dish in the crate. We took Harley to the Canine Behavioral Center in Bothell for an evaluation. They said he was a smart dog but required more exercise and discipline than we were currently providing. He is not consistent off the leash. Sometimes he listens and comes when called other times he will want to play and stay just out of reach so you cannot catch him. It's a game for him and frustrating for us. We have a park across the street from our house and we often take him there to play with other dogs and to run around. When other dogs are present he is much happier and content and more likely to listen. We are not in a position to take on another dog and anxious to find Harley a loving home with another dog to play with. If you would like to see a photo of Harley please let me know and I would be happy to email them to you. |
